Are you passionate about Earth Science? Can  you create and maintain a welcoming and supportive learning environment for community college students wth diverse multicultural, socioeconomic, and academic backgrounds? Are you eager to work collaboratively with other faculty to find innovative ways to address persistent student achievement challenges and to improve student success? Seattle Central College has an opening for a full-time, tenure-track Earth and Environmental Science/Geology Instructor in the Science and Mathematics Division.  Teaching science at Seattle Central emphasizes communication, critical thinking, and problem solving for college transfer and professional-technical students with a broad range of life experiences and academic backgrounds.  The faculty member will primarily teach lecture and lab for introductory and General Geology and other Earth Science courses, and faculty are expected to use classroom methods that are innovative, rigorous, and responsive to students' needs.  We expect faculty to work effectively and considerately with students, colleagues, staff, and community members in a campus climate that promotes diversity and multicultural understanding in an urban environment.
