Debbie Morrin-Nordlund Memorial Graduate travel Award

Debbi Morrin-Nordlund (M.S., 1992) served as the Assistant Director of the MEES Graduate Program for over 18 years before passing at the age of 51 in 2014. The MEES Graduate Program has chosen to dedicate a travel award in her honor. To that end, her parents, Michael and Nancy Morrin, have generously donated funds in her memory to assist MEES students to present their work at professional meetings or travel to conduct their research.

REID EVANS MENZER MEMORIAL GRADUATE FUND

Reid Evans Menzer was the son of Eric and Kendall Menzer and the grandson of Robert and Sara Lee Menzer. Reid lost his life at the age of 14 as a result of a skate-boarding accident. This award is established as a memorial in recognition of his devotion to various aspects of environmental science.

Clint Waters student award

The Clint Waters Student Award Fund supports merit-based awards for MEES graduate students. In memory of Clint Waters (1941-2015), former President of Dorchester County Chapter of Maryland Saltwater Sportfisherman’s Association (MSSA) and a strong advocate of MSSA’s college scholarship foundation, the Mid-Shore Fishing Club (formerly the Dorchester County MSSA Chapter) is proud to establish this student award.

Bill Huppert Endowed Student Award

This endowed student award is in memory of Bill Huppert who was a beloved teacher and an environmentalist committed to the health of the Chesapeake Bay. He also started the Maryland Saltwater Sportfishermen's Association (MSSA) Scholarship Foundation to support students pursuing higher education in ecology, conservation, and marine biology.
